Module 1: Course introduction
• Students will be presented with the learning objectives and expected outcomes for the three-day training event, as well as all related course materials. The system requirements for Magnet Griffeye Operations will be discussed, and an instructor-led exercise will guide students in setting up the necessary environment to get ready for the course.
Module 2: Case processing with Operations
• In this module, students will learn how to navigate the Dashboard of Magnet Griffeye Operations and understand what each section displays. Students will also be guided through examples of the server settings and shown how to configure a standalone GID. Additionally, managing case processing options using the case processing wizard, exploring the importation settings, and options. Finally, students will be taught about the collaboration feature of operations.
Module 3: The Workflow Checklist and categorisation
• Students will explore the Workflow Checklist in this module and will be guided through the viewing, updating, and utilisation of this feature. Secondly, students will learn about the multiple wellbeing features, such as the ‘Take a Break’ timers and media content filters. Once the wellbeing features have been configured, students will learn how to categorise within the tool, utilising the media descriptions and intelligence markers.
Module 4: Filtering and bookmarking
• Students will learn how to make the most of the filtering and bookmarking features through instructor-led exercises, to work more efficiently and focus on the most relevant files using the ‘Work Smart Filter’. Students will learn the distinction between ‘Accessible’ and ‘Inaccessible’ files, and how to adjust these file locations based on the device being used.
Module 5: Searching techniques
• In this module, students will learn how to use Magnet Griffeye Operations for various types of searches based on case objectives. Searches will include similar faces, loading specific reference files, applying hash searches to match case intelligence, searching for motion within video files, and differentiating between total files located and binary unique files. The module aims to provide effective training on the use of Magnet Griffeye Operations to help students become proficient in their search techniques.
Module 6: Utilising apps
• Students will learn how to utilise the tool to run additional apps and services designed to advance an investigation by examining social media identifiers and geolocation data. This module will cover how to use the AI engine, ‘Griffeye Brain’ along with extended AI classifiers such as ‘Thorn’ and T3K.AI to enhance the identification of child sexual abuse material. Additionally, students will learn how to use the Keyword Matching app to apply default and custom keyword lists to their cases.
Module 7: Reporting and updating the GID
• The final course module will teach students how to update the standalone GID(s) whilst also completing any exporting of data into specific file types such as NCMEC.
